Cyrus D. Mehta was quoted in Law360 about the High Skilled Worker Rule http://www.law360.com/immigration/articles/765751?nl_pk=7ae2e871-59fd-485c-b781-440a332b5ae5&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=immigration

The limitation has undoubtedly disappointed immigrant hopefuls who are stuck in the green card backlogs, Mehta told Law360.

“[T]he compelling circumstances requirement has disappointed a lot of stakeholders, especially beneficiaries of I-140 petitions, who have to wait for years on end for their green card,” Mehta said. “They’re in the pipeline for the green card — they’re actually camera-ready for the green card — but they can’t apply for it because of the priority date.”

Cyrus Mehta was quoted in Law360’s article entitled: “H-1B Racketeering Suits Against Disney Face Uphill Battle.”    The relevant quote of Cyrus Mehta is as follows:

“There’s also the fact that the suits bring up Form 750, which Mehta said has been defunct since 2005 and was part of the green card process — it “has nothing to do” with the H-1B visa recipients, he said.”

Cyrus Mehta was quoted in Law360’s article entitled: “Foreign Worker Job Flexibility Rule Lacks Bite, Critics Say.”    The relevant quote of Cyrus Mehta is as follows:

“One key provision that’s missing is broader work authorization for people with approved employment-based immigrant petitions, or I-140s, according to Cyrus Mehta of Cyrus D. Mehta & Partners PLLC.  These petitions are part of the process that allows foreign nationals to become green card holders through a job.

“The centerpiece that the stakeholders were expecting…was the work authorization provision – the ability to get a work authorization and then move to another employer.”  Mehta said.  “That has disappointed everybody, because the rule imposes very stringent standards.”
